We decided last year (when we gave up on our lawn and yard) that this summer was going to be the year for our backyard.  We decided to devote our time (instead of to the inside of our home) to the outside.  To kill weeds, have a rockin’ garden, and have people over to enjoy it.

We planted grass seed where it seemingly refused to grow (and it’s doing great now – after a rough start). We planted lots of plants in a planned garden and are keeping watch to make sure disease from last year does not return.  We sprayed those weeds and they seem to be mostly at bay (in the backyard anyway)

Still,  we need some help.  Turns out – you can help too!  It was suggested at work that I write about this big backyard giveaway that’s going on – instead of just writing about it, I thought, why not actually enter it and write blogs during the voting process – try to win, and write about the transformation after.  So here we are, asking for you to vote.  You get 5 votes per day:

1) go to this website: (the house with the caution tape is ours) 

2) register toward the top (they want to make sure there is no voting fraud)

3) on our page – click “save vote” five times

4) come back tomorrow and do it again until the 17th

We’re already in 3rd place – so hopefully we just bump ahead a little and will have you all over for a backyard bash
