Honeymoon: Sunday

Honeymoon: Sunday

What a wonderful day. It was such a great gift to have so many friends and family gathered together in support and love for us. It still does not seem real. The day was full of pictures, nerves, laughter, and a few tears, but it overflowed with love. It is a blur as months of planning went into a few hours. We will be anxious to see pictures and video.

We woke up early Sunday, partially still running on adrenaline, and partially awaken by hunger pains. We realized we had not gotten but a taste of most of our delicious food the night before. I pulled out the puppy-dog face and my husband agreed to run and get me coffee and a muffin. Those hunger pains would be fulfilled soon enough though. We took our sweet time getting ready and dropping of the dress and tux before we finally got on the road headed for Memphis.

We had no idea where we were staying, what we were doing or when. We just got in the car and took off. For most of you who know our personalities you will say, “how did Chris ever talk Noelle into doing that?” The truth was we were so busy planning the wedding that the honeymoon was just not a priority. We enjoyed thinking of things we’d like to do and making lists and looking at hotels online, but when it comes down to either of us and making decisions you’ll understand why plans just could not be made. What a perfect way to travel though, and to spend some time together as husband and wife.

We only made it to St. Louis before we couldn’t drive anymore. Six hours was quite enough for the day after our wedding, since we left much later than anticipated (again if you know us individually multiply our showing up on time to things times 2). We found a cute little pub to grab a late dinner at and called it a night after exploring by car.
